Nikon Nikkor-H Auto 28mm F3.5

Sometimes the lens is so cheap, and in such nice condition, that you can't say no even though you don't really want it. Such was the case for this Nikkor-H 28mm. An old non-Ai Auto lens, from the early 1970's, it won't work on my D750, and I own several other, better or at least more useful 28mm lenses already.

The case for: the awesome vintage Nikkor scalloped focus and aperture rings, with the colored aperture markers. Extremely compact size and great handling. The case against: doesn't work on most FX bodies, and it's not simply sharp enough to keep up with modern high pixel density DX sensors. 5-blade aperture means nasty bokeh unless wide open, and it isn't nice even then. Also, it's only F3.5.

Verdict: the looks are better than the results.
